Jeannette Hayes

Jeannette’s paintings are full of energy and use thick oil paint, the medium’s richness and texture allows Jeanette to drip, drag and smear the paint allowing it to shape the final imagery on the canvas.

The current series of work, looks at views over London. On first impression, the images seems a mesh of colour, but as the viewer continues to look and make sense of the painting, soon a noticeable landmark emerges and the colours and marks become a visually stimulating cityscape full of life and energy. The variety of marks that are made and the multi-layering of paint in the canvas mean that something different is noticed on each and every view.
