Sophie Marsham

A London-based sculptor who works with steel, stainless steel, copper and recycled objects.  Her work is about creating something interesting from discarded utilitarian pieces. She encourages the viewer to see beyond the obvious and says collecting of found objects is as important as the way in which they are placed together.

Often the sculptures have humour and sometimes movable elements, with a great desire for the work to be interactive and appeal to all ages, and also to vary the scale of the work, ranging from tiny hand-held pieces to public work of 6M or more. The smaller work has a more immediate and collectable appeal and she finds enjoyment making these sculptures as much as her public art.
